At selah&co., the goal is to develop and offer self care products with you and the planet in mind. We are working to achieve this in many ways:
- Ingredients: As we are sourcing ingredients, we are searching for resources that meet fair trade standards, environmentally minded production efforts, as well as ensuring that each ingredient is safe for use on skin, and in waterways. If you are interested in the research behind these decisions, check it out here. (Also, please note that due to higher prices for these ingredients, the prices of our products may seem higher than other stores.)
- Packaging: Product specific packaging information is included in each item description. Across the board, packaging for our products follows the mindset of simple and recycled. For example, glass jars are chosen, as glass can recycled a multitude of times, and is really simple to reuse as well. Products labels are designed and printed on matte recycled paper, which allows it to also be recycled and used again.
- Shipping packaging: Our packaging tape is water activated, which is the better option than non-water activated. We wrap our products in honeycomb packaging paper, as this type of packing paper requires less materials and has a high success rate with successful shipping.
As we are continuing to learn and grow, we want to be mindful of not greenwashing, which is why we trace our ingredients back to their source. This is why we may only do a few products in a new collection, or only drop new products once a year.
